Microsoft 365 Frontline is a pair of subscriptions (F1 and F3) purpose-built for shift, retail, manufacturing, and hospitality workers who share devices or work primarily on mobile. Both plans cap the Office desktop apps and reduce mailbox size to keep per-seat cost low, letting Indian organisations put a Microsoft 365 identity on every worker without paying the E3/E5 tag.
What is the difference between F1 and F3?+
F1 (₹190/user/mo India MRP) is chat-only + web Office — no Exchange mailbox, no OneDrive. It's the right SKU for shop-floor / warehouse / factory-line workers who need Teams for shift coordination and web Office for occasional edits. F3 (₹680/user/mo) adds a 2 GB Exchange Online mailbox, 2 GB of OneDrive per user, and mobile + web Office apps — the right SKU for retail, healthcare, hospitality, and field-service teams that need email + light document access.
What is included in Microsoft 365 F1?+
F1 includes Microsoft Teams (chat, shifts, walkie-talkie, Praise, Approvals), web + mobile Office (view + edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint online), SharePoint / Viva Connections access, Intune device management, MFA via Entra ID, and multi-user shared device sign-in. Exchange mailbox is NOT included — pair with Exchange Online Plan 1 (₹115/user/mo) if the user needs email.
What is included in Microsoft 365 F3?+
F3 includes everything in F1 PLUS a 2 GB Exchange mailbox, 2 GB of OneDrive per user, mobile + web Office apps (full editing), Yammer / Viva Engage, Stream for video sharing, and enhanced Teams features. F3 does NOT include desktop Office apps — switch to E3 (₹3,245) if desktop apps are needed.
Can F1/F3 users share a device?+
Yes — that's a core design principle. Frontline plans support shared-device mode on Android + iOS: 20+ workers can rotate through a single tablet or handheld scanner, each signing in with their Entra ID credentials at shift start and signing out at shift end without losing state. Intune enforces conditional access, MDM policies, and app protection on the shared device.
How is Frontline licensed and activated?+
Licences are assigned per worker in the Microsoft 365 admin center. India Enterprises provisions the tenant, activates the CSP licences, and configures shared-device sign-in policy inside the Intune admin center within 2 working hours of PO acceptance. Users get Teams on iOS/Android within 15 minutes of licence assignment.
Can I mix Frontline plans with E3/E5 in one tenant?+
Yes. A single Microsoft 365 tenant can carry any combination of F1, F3, E3, E5, and Business seats. Common Indian layouts: F1 for shop-floor, F3 for shift supervisors, E3 for back-office, E5 for finance + security. Assign each user only the seats they need; the platform gates features automatically.
Is GST included in the price?+
No. Every price on this page is exclusive of 18% GST. Because Microsoft 365 is a SaaS licence (HSN 998434) and India Enterprises is a GST-registered CSP partner, the GST is fully claimable as input tax credit by any GST-registered Indian business.
What is the minimum order quantity for Frontline?+
There is no minimum — Frontline plans can be bought for as few as 1 user. That said, most Indian organisations buying F1/F3 do so for 50+ workers where the price advantage matters. Bulk orders (500+ seats) unlock additional discount — contact sales for a volume quote.
Can I upgrade a Frontline user to E3 later?+
Yes. Microsoft supports mid-cycle upgrades on CSP subscriptions. We swap the licence type, pro-rate the balance to the next invoice, and email an amended tax invoice. Data (Teams chats, mailbox, OneDrive files) carries over automatically — the user simply gains access to the upgraded feature set at next sign-in.
